Kuhlman builds homes on land owned by the homeowner, on an acreage, or in a subdivision. If you don't own property, we can help find the perfect location for your new home, where you want to live. Kuhlman will help decide where the home fits best on the property, and build everything from the road to your new home, the water and sewer or septic system, power, and other buildings to be located on the property. You name it, we do it.
Kuhlman homes are built from scratch, with our new homeowners in charge. We meet with a new homeowner to determine their vision, dreams, needs, and budget. We visit the building location, and together, determine the bestlocation, the best fit on the property, and determine site preparation needs.
Some new home owners have a plan or a sketch. Kuhlman works with you, to determine, room by room what you want: size of rooms, open or closed floor plans, simple or formal dining rooms, the number and sizes of bathrooms, closets, and other wants and wishes. We are 'true' custom home builders.
Plans are developed inside and outside, specifications prepared, blueprints completed and approved, construction bids requested, and a building contract developed.

Kuhlman Construction home's quality starts at the foundation, to the roof, and everything in between. Things you cannot see. We do not cut corners. We build to exceed standard home building practices.
For instance: Have you ever gone into newly constructed houses and noticed that the walls and ceilings have waves? You will never find that in Kuhlman Construction homes. Our quality control processes require replacement when any construction process doesn't meet our standards.
- 5/8s inch plywood, instead of 1/2 inch, which is typical
- Ice and water shield on all valleys and eves
- 30 lb. roofing felt, instead of 15 which is typical
- Hurricane ties tie the roof system trusses to the walls.
- All framing materials are hand picked, for true and straight material.
- All stud walls are string lined and straight edged to make sure they are straight, then rechecked before drywall installation.
- We place wood backing anywhere there is a closet shelf, drapery rod installation areas, heavy pictures hung, and shelving.
- Our floors don't squeak. Our standards require additional screws, glues and nails be used on all flooring systems.
- Drain tile is installed on the inside and outside of all foundation walls and includes a pit and sump pump whether it is needed or not.
- Stronger concrete is used, 3500 psi as apposed to 3000 psi, and we do not cut corners on the thickness.
- Optima blown in fiber felt insulation is used in the roof area, all exterior walls and interior walls are insulated to reduce noise between rooms. Insulation is also placed around all plumbing lines, electrical runs, for increased energy efficiency.
